About Kenneth Spencer |
The following is a brief indication of the background to Kenneth Spencer, trading as K A Spencer (Software), skills, background and experience.
Kenneth Spencer, owner of K A Spencer
(Software) built his first computer in 1978 from electronic
components and a favourite microprocessor of the day, the
Rockwell 6502. He has designed and written software ever since.
In 1980 his games program "Fantastic Voyage" for the
ZX81 (later released for the ZX Spectrum and BBC computers), rose
to the Top Ten Games for several weeks.
Late in 1989, Kenneth won the prize for Best Article and Program
in C Magazine, for his article and
programs "Mandelbrot on EGA" which enabled users to
explore the Mandelbrot Set to the limits of the technology then
available.
Kenneth worked for Bath District Health Authority as Systems
Manager, where he implemented and performed much in-house
development of a major Oracle database for the Authority's
Healthcare Purchasing, Public Health and Health Care activity analysis functions. He then implemented this system
for the new Health Commission for Wiltshire and Bath (now
Wiltshire Health Authority) where he worked as Systems
Development Manager and later, Assistant Director for
Information.
More recently Kenneth has devoted himself full-time to operating
K A Spencer (Software) as a high quality personal information
technology support and consultancy service, providing support to
small businesses, individual professionals (doctors, journalists,
farmers, builders, lecturers) and to general medical
practices in Somerset and Wiltshire.
As well as several professional and other qualifications, Kenneth holds a Master
of Science degree in Medical Computing from the University of
Wales.
